Fujifilm Finepix J12 Remote Shooting

The concept

Before you begin, to find appropriate programs to build the music database, you should (at least) have a rough outline as one would like his songs by artist, genre, albums, and similar representation.

Certainly here plays the current size of the database an important role - but you should never forget: libraries grow! :-)

For small libraries like a simple structure (and thus representation) are sufficient. Probably it is enough even if you simply his music on several criteria can sort succession (ie artist, album, track number) and then simply durchscrollt from top to bottom.
is
But with collections of 20,000 or more connections to a such a concept hopelessly lost!

In such collections will you have more content options from which you just choose the display type that appears at the moment as the best.

It is intending to, for example as described above, its database as
[Artist] / [album] / [title]
For many artists it may also be useful to the artist yet to grasp after Anfanhsbuchstaben together so
[First letter of Artist] / [Artist] / [album] / [title]

For very many albums and performers, it often happens that you have 50 or even 100 different genre. This is often confusing and can be summarized genres into "Upper genres. As such one could also define Folk, Folk-Rock, Psychedelic Folk, Folk-Pop Folk simply as a generic genre. is

case of individual artist albums usually the album artist the same as the artist of each track. Is somewhat different if eg an album by Eric Clapton is taking, in which he plays the different songs with different guest performers. In the case could have been as

Title 1 = A Certain Girl
Artist 1 = Eric Clapton & The Yardbirds
Title 2 = White Room
Artist 2 = Eric Clapton & Cream
The album artist would be for the full album Eric Clapton.

would be for the above sorting and then Gruppierbeispiele certainly makes sense to choose the place of the artist album artist!

is much more complicated with so-called compilations or compilations in which the entire album is a compilation of songs of different performers is. This is where the album artist a central role.
entält Usually the day album artist in this kind of albums such thing as "Various Artists" or "VA".
From the basic idea of her is indeed the right approach, but the idea is far from finished thought.
In programs with which one node can, grouping, sorting and filtering define free offers, the "tinkering" with the album and album artist fields unexpected, more possibilities!
Often compilations and samplers consist of several albums, so a series of compilations, such as BRAVO Hits Vol.1 - Bravo Hits Vol 70
you wear now in the [album] of the first album "Bravo Hits Vol 1" in which the second album "Bravo Hits Vol 2", etc., and people carry into the [album artist] of all albums "VA - A BRAVO Hits", then one has immediately defined a clear filter criteria, while an excellent grouping criterion.

As all sampler with "VA -" start, I can clearly distinguish from "normal albums." I also have one group per series samplers.
This can be very helpful and clear, if the database eg all albums
BRAVO Hits
The Dome
Hit Giganten
The Ultimate Chart Show
contains.
Without such a grouping would have been simply a list of around 200 albums in a row today .... enjoy scrolling.
through the clear filter criterion "VA -" if you want you can also keep all wonderfully individual artists sampler from the artist list of the "normal" albums and build a really completely separate section for samplers.

Digression:
the cardinal mistake in solving the "compilation problem" was probably at Apple's iTunes (and then going into the iPod / iPads / iPhones) made.
To go to the dilemma that appear the individual artists of the songs on the samplers in the great performers list, has tried normal albums and samplers from each other. To this end we knew it is no different to help, as put up on the general conventions of id3tag away and to define a new tag field [Tcomp]. This field is marked, and iTunes recognizes that this is a sampler. This field is now compatible with anything or anyone and more than an identification that it is in general is a sampler you have not won.
By now (memory terms) ever-growing iPod and iPhone (the iPod Classic 160GB boasts one with a capacity of up to 40.00 titles) Apple itself is fatal in a dead end! With the complete lack of groupings, the rigid (or lack of) menu structure is now on iTunes already overburdened. Managing a real music is not possible.
I'm curious how you intend to solve this dilemma at Apple in the future :-)

As soon as one is now aware of how you want to build database and present his music, can be seen on the search for the appropriate program for converting go of the concept!

Happy hunting - until the next post
