The software selection
With all the previous posts referred to in conditions and requirements, the list of eligible software is already extremely limited.
All-in-one tools like iTunes are not in question here, for although you can create and maintain very simple music databases and can download music, etc. but they meet only the most basic rights and are totally unsuitable for more complex databases. Every single part of the program has indeed its basic functions, but all in all-in-one tool is sufficient not only part of higher claims.
My own personal choice - which of course, may vary at each other - the media monkey 3 is to create and manage here. I also have
the (mass) Edit the tags chosen the TagScanner 5.1 .
Why these choices?
course combines all the features of Media Monkey and skills we need to manage the databases. Second, there are a number of the Media Monkey VB scripts that makes working with flexible and appearance of the database in any way. Of course, numerous skins, Mini Player, etc available.
scripts & skins are created mostly by users, what the media monkey makes virtually unassailable: it is a tool by users for users, and thus almost all the requirements have to can be covered.
The Tagsacanner 5.1 (free) is a relatively simple tool for editing the tags. Although it countless of them are free on the Web, just the TagScanner offers excellent support for simple and complex mass changes. So one can extract information such as file names and different tag fields, put them together at will and write to a tag field - all in one step for hundreds or thousands of music files.
In the following posts, we now step by step build our music library with Media Monkey.
on the tagging will not be discussed further separately
